Tzivia Gover

Dream House is a hand-bound poetry chapbook featuring poems by Tzivia Gover and artwork by her sister, Joanne Yoshida. This limited edition book is designed by Aja Riggs. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of Dream House will be donated to organizations that work against homelessness.

A psychic told her she'd lived many lives
with one lover, but in this one, he'd turned
to stone; was gone. So she wandered, sought
monuments, memorials, sculpture gardens,
the Greek hall at the Metropolitan.

The astrologer saw a wedge of sky
in her fourth house; the house of home. Devoid
of planets, stars, or satellites--no moons.
Not empty either. She felt a pressure there,
the tension that holds loneliness in place.

An optimist, the psychologist said,
which was why despite all portents she turned
her key in the door again and again.
Tell me something, she bellowed into rooms
she had no plan to decorate. Tell me

something, she demanded of her lovers.
Tell me about me, she asked the tarot
reader. Tell me where I live, she whispered
into the kitchen drawer full of old keys.
She clicked her heels--stitched x's through the words:

home is where--the heart is--a lonely hunter.
